French Flintlock Pistol Napoleon, Replica

Product information "French Flintlock Pistol Napoleon, Replica"

French Flintlock Pistol Napoleon, 19th Century, Replica

Decoration pistol with articulated mechanism
– NOT FUNCTIONAL –

Replica of a French flintlock pistol (so-called pistolet modèle An XIII) as issued to the troops of emperor Napoleon I. Originally designed for the cavalry, but also widespread in the navy, these pistols were extensively used by the French army during the Napoleonic Wars. They continued to see service until ca. 1840, at which point they were retrofitted with a percussion cap firing system.

The stock of this muzzleloader replica is made of resin (imitation wood). While the barrel, lock, ramrod and trigger are gunmetal-coloured, all other metal fittings have an antiqued brass finish. The barrel bears the engraving Manufacture impériale, an inscription repeated in abbreviated form (Mre imp.) on the lock plate and completed with St. Etienne, one of the main French arsenals at the time.

This special version is adorned with some of the most iconic emblems of the famous French emperor – an eagle on the butt cap and, inlaid in the handle, the letter N surrounded by a laurel wreath and topped with the imperial crown.

Our firearm replicas are solely intended for re-enactment and decorative purposes. Although the mechanism is fully articulated, this reproduction is not capable of firing. The ramrod cannot be pulled out.

A beautiful item for every collection and an indispensable accessory for re-enactors.
